haulers break if you increase their speed more than 7 times (more than 350%). Coupled with only a single capacity increase this means you have to have roughly 1 hauler per dps for the majority of the dig if you dont want to have huge pillars of dirt covering the cage. Need to fix the speed bug and give them scalable capacity to keep up with dps increases and pit length
thats before the hauler damage upgrade too which literally produces more dirt than they can possibly carry alone due to the lack of capacity upgrades
overall this basically caps you at around 50dps in the current build
As others stated before me, haulers are broken in an annoying way - the game exposes DPS as a value to keep track of, but the real meta requires you to cash in on the resources to progress faster, which requires haulers. This made me invest a lot of various resources into haulers but still kept me questioning myself if I shouldn't be going for DPS due to some yet unrevealed game mechanic. Very uncanny gameplay experience. No matter how much I poured into haulers, they still kept lagging behind miners. On top of that, haulers get stuck at the bottom and near the wagon for random ammounts of time, which makes the grind even longer.
There is also something animated at the bottom of the pit, when digging the Essence Chamber - I can't tell what it is, because it's behind the ground heaps and I can't uncover them all even with haulers+fully upgraded mage . Players will miss this content.
Haulers are OP in the wrong niche. You want haulers to collect rocks, but your workers generate more resources than they can collect. So even if you assigned all your workers to hauling, you'd still end up overwhelmed with uncollected rocks. This means you're constantly stuck between ignoring hauling altogether and just focusing on digging, or trying to collect everything efficiently, which is currently impossible.
By looking at what's happening with haulers, it seems there's a cap to how fast they can be, because they get stuck at the wagon hauling material back, so at some point upgrades don't do anything. I have all haulers speed 9 full upgrade, all the digging comes from their falling, and the hole is fuller and fuller
haulers are outclassed, I have 50 of them and they cant keep up with 10 miners at level 8 speed
made it to 3000 and stoping there
Do haulers currently delete the ore instead of giving you any currency? I notice one hauler is enough to empty the hole of all currency in less than 20 seconds, but no income is gained. Edit, after reloading and using them high up instead of low down, they are exceedingly slow, but that seems to be the intended speed so at least it's fixed.
Finished the demo. Haulers can't keep up with hauling even just their faceplant damage, with 0 damaging units, 0 damage books, and all hauling books.
Haulers can't keep up at all, even with more of them and lvl 8 speed upgrade.
wonder how deep the hole goe
pressing 1 resets the game somehow..
Thanks for catching that, was something I was using to test the game during development, pushed a change to remove it!
